Visa types and qualifications
The following three visas are available for students applying for short-term courses or 11 -month English courses
- Child Visitor Visa: Students aged 17 and under apply for a course of no longer than 6 months (the maximum study period can be up to 12 months if accompanied by an academic visitor).
- Student Visitor Visa: Students aged 18 and above apply for courses of no longer than 6 months.
- Extending your student visit visa: If you are only applying for a full-time English course, you can apply to extend your student visit visa for up to 11 months.
The following two visas are suitable for applying for long-term English courses in the UK, and the school you register for must be a school certified by the British Immigration Service.
- Tier4 (Child) student visa: If you are under 18 years old and want to apply for a course of more than 6 months.
- Tier 4 (General) student visa: applies to university courses you wish to apply for in the UK.
The visa most used by international students to enter is the Tier 4 student visa, which is based on a points system for approval.
To obtain a Tier 4 (General) visa, you must obtain 40 points .
You can score points by:
- If you already have an admission confirmation letter from a recognized school (Tier 4 Sponsor), and the course level you choose and your English proficiency meet the requirements, you can get 30 points.
- If you have enough money (Maintenance/Funds) to pay for living and tuition fees, you will get 10 points.

UK visa application document preparation
- Original valid passport (valid for at least 6 months)
- Old passport (If the old passport is lost, or the current passport does not have any entry and exit records, the applicant must apply for entry and exit records at the Immigration Bureau of the Immigration Department.)
- 1 ID photo of 45mmx35mm (required to take off hat, no uniform, white background, recent color photo taken within 3 months)
- Genuine English version of the diploma of the highest academic qualification (for future reference)
- English version of academic transcript of highest degree (for future reference)
- CAS file (CAS number is valid for 6 months and can only be used once)
- British School Admission Permit (for future reference)
- One original copy of proof of financial resources (for future reference)
- Transcript of household registration in English (if applicable)
- English version of parent’s financial support certificate (if applicable)
- English certification test score report: Original IELTS/TOEFL score report (for future reference)
- Visa fees
- Attach a copy of all original documents: passport, transcript of highest academic degree, British school admission permit, financial certificate (for future reference), and English certification exam transcript.
Please note:
- The number of working days required for a UK visa is at least 5-15 working days, excluding holidays.
- All original documents will be returned to the applicant by the British Visa Office after review.
- UK visa applicants can choose to pick up the package in person or by post, and postage charges will apply.
- The British Visa Office provides priority visa processing for an additional fee. The British government will decide whether to issue a visa and notify you to collect your passport within 5 working days after you submit your biometric information.
